Zoning

The Town of Wendell has in place an ordinance regulating the of use of land.  The purpose of this ordinance is to accomplish a coordinated, balanced, and harmonious development of the land within  the corporate limits and ETJ (extraterritorial jurisdiction) in a manner which will best promote the health, safety, morals, convenience, order, prosperity, and general welfare of the citizens of Wendell.

There are 13 zoning districts in the corporate limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of Wendell.  These districts are listed below.

 

District Description
RA Residential - Agricultural
R20 Residential - 20,000 square feet
R15 Residential - 15,000 square feet
R12 Residential - 12,000 square feet
R10 Residential - 10,000 square feet
R7 Residential - 7,000 square feet
O & I Office and Institutional
M & I Manufacturing and Industrial
CD Commercial - Downtown
CH Commercial - Highway
CN Commercial - Neighborhood
CS Commercial - Shopping Center
MH Mobile Home
